Where Does the Time Go? brings together works that explore the quiet intensity of material manipulation. Through processes of repetition and tactile engagement, I map time across surfaces. The exhibition centers on the act of making as a form of reflection, and the way I confront grief.
In this moment, many of us are collectively navigating grief on personal, social, and global scales. These works emerge from long periods of focus, allowing my hands to process loss into growth. Instinctual, tactile pursuits that can transform turmoil into calm moments of presence.
Where Does the Time Go? invites viewers to consider the marathon of making. The handwork lives in slow, grounding rituals that help regulate the body and mind. Each mark, each stitch, becomes part of a larger pilgrimage of accumulation. What remains are objects that function as documents of transformation. Materials once subjected to tension and pressure become expressions of relationship and connection, forcing an awareness of scale within the collective. Through these material endeavors, time becomes visible, not as something lost, but as something built. Healing happens stitch by stitch, step by step.
